The Unitarian Universalist Congregation has a long history of community outreach. These are the groups that our church hosts/supports and in which many of our members participate:
Direct Assistance Program (DAP) the Direct Assistance Program (DAP) is a subgroup of the Woodstock Area Community Ministry. DAP provides emergency financial assistance to residents of the Woodstock School District. DAP volunteers are available in the Dean Street church basement Monday and Thursday mornings, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Joe Sternberg.
McHenry County Pride
This is a discussion group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning adults. They meet at chruch every Thursday at 7:00.
Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS)
McHenry County PADS is a charitable not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide emergency, transitional and preventative measures for homeless individuals and families of McHenry County. They are the largest provider of shelter and services to McHenry County's men, women and children who have become homeless.
Recovery International
Recovery International works with participants to strengthen self-help mental health skills. RI uses the cognitive-behavioral, peer-to-peer, self-help training system developed by Abraham Low, MD, to help individuals gain skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives.
